Palm Springs Juvenile Law Attorney
Juvenile court issues can challenge the very fabric of your family. If you are dealing with these types of issues, you need to know that your best interests and the best interests of your child are being served and protected.
Juvenile court proceedings can be confusing. Most people do not understand their rights, much less the unique procedural rules in juvenile court and may unwittingly do harm to their case or their child’s case if they do not have effective legal guidance. This makes it so incredibly important that you secure the representation of an attorney who understands the juvenile court system.
I am Palm Springs juvenile law attorney Timothy L. Ewanyshyn of La Quinta Law Group. I know how challenging juvenile cases can be. These types of cases can be a direct threat to your family. I bring skill and experience that is based on more than 15 years of practice, and I am committed to providing my clients with the exceptional juvenile court defense that they deserve.
In California, the juvenile justice system has two types of proceedings:
- Dependency proceedings — If Child Protective Services (CPS) believes that your child is at risk, they can take your child and file a dependency petition with the court. The court will have the power to place your child with foster parents and may impose conditions for you to meet before you can be reunited with your child.
- Delinquency proceedings — When a child is charged with a crime and he or she is not old enough to be charged as an adult, he or she may be tried as a delinquent.
